Best-Selling Products on Amazon UAE and Saudi Arabia: What Sells, by Category

Updated September 2026 · Hadjer Ben, COO

The best-selling products on Amazon UAE are published by Amazon itself, department by department, and the list changes through the day. What the list does not tell a brand is whether its own product will sell, whether it is allowed to list it, or whether the same product will sell on Amazon.sa. This guide covers all three.

Where do you find the best-selling products on Amazon UAE?

Amazon publishes them on the Amazon.ae Best Sellers page, which it describes as “our most popular products based on sales”, updated frequently. Amazon.sa has its own list at Amazon.sa Best Sellers, and the two are separate stores with separate rankings.

Each department has its own top 100. Open the department your product belongs to rather than the all-department page, because the front page mixes categories and tells you very little about yours.

What does the list actually show right now?

On 28 September 2026, the top of Amazon.ae’s Kitchen Best Sellers list was zip-lock food bags, baking paper, disposable plates, moisture absorbers and a digital kitchen scale. Most of the top ten were low-priced everyday consumables.

That pattern matters more than any single product. Best Sellers ranks by sales volume, so repeat-purchase consumables rise to the top of almost every department. A premium brand should read the list for demand signals in its sub-category, not as a list of products to copy.

Which categories sell on Amazon.ae and Amazon.sa?

Both stores sell across the same broad departments, but Amazon organises them differently. On the Amazon.ae Best Sellers page, Kitchen, Appliances, Computers and Mobile Phones each have their own list; on Amazon.sa they sit inside Home and Electronics, and Amazon.sa adds DIY and Tools and Patio, Lawn and Garden (both checked 28 September 2026).

The practical point: the same product competes in a list of a different size in each store. A kitchen tool is ranked inside a dedicated Kitchen list on Amazon.ae and inside the much broader Home list on Amazon.sa.

Which categories need Amazon’s approval before you can list?

Several of the categories that sell well are gated. Amazon’s list of categories and products that require approval names Beauty, Health and personal care, Grocery and gourmet foods, Clothing and accessories, Shoes, handbags and sunglasses, Jewelry, Watches, Luggage and Automotive as common restricted categories, and the Amazon.sa version lists the same.

Approval can apply at category level, brand level or to a single ASIN, and some products need more than one. A branded pair of shoes, for example, can need both Shoes category approval and approval for that brand.

What Amazon asks for, according to the same help page:

Amazon says review takes 2 to 7 business days. If the answer is “Your account does not qualify”, Amazon states the decision cannot be appealed and Seller Support cannot give more detail, so the application is worth preparing properly the first time.

It is an easy check to skip. A brand chooses a category because it appears on the Best Sellers list, ships stock, and finds the listing blocked. Resellers are hit hardest, because brand approval depends on documents from the brand owner.

Which kitchen tools make money on Amazon.ae?

Before we advise a brand to invest in a category, our Amazon team studies it. In our kitchen tools study of 25 September 2026, 41 products on Amazon.ae showed an estimated AED 250,157 in monthly sales and AED 71,140 in monthly net revenue after product cost and Amazon fees.

The products that sold the most were not the ones that kept the most.

Source: Widget System Amazon team study of 41 Amazon.ae Home and Kitchen listings, built from Amazon listing data and product research tools, data captured 25 September 2026. Estimates, not sales reports.

Choppers and gadgets moved the most units but averaged a 15 percent net margin. Knife sets sold a quarter of the volume and returned the highest margin in the study, 37.5 percent. Peelers and kitchen scissors sold steadily and lost money on average: at AED 11 to 15 a unit, Amazon’s referral commission and fulfilment fee take more than the product earns.

How the numbers were built. Monthly units come from the “bought in past month” badge Amazon shows on each listing, taken at the badge floor, so they are a minimum. Net revenue deducts an estimated buying price, Amazon’s referral commission and an FBA fee for each item’s size tier. It excludes freight, customs duty, packaging, returns and advertising, all of which lower real profit.

Two cautions from the same study. Several of the strongest sellers were established international brands, which a new brand would compete against directly. And a demand badge confirms recent sales, not profit or how crowded a category already is.

Kitchen tools also sit outside Amazon’s common restricted list above, which makes the category easier to enter than Beauty or Health. Our home and kitchen page covers how we run the category on both stores.

Does what sells on Amazon.ae also sell on Amazon.sa?

Not automatically. The two stores rank separately, group products into different departments, and serve buyers who search in different mixes of Arabic and English.

Arabic listing content carries more weight on Amazon.sa, so an English-only listing that ranks on Amazon.ae can underperform there. Our guide to Arabic listing requirements on Amazon.sa covers what Amazon requires, and the GCC seasonal calendar shows where the two stores’ peak dates differ. We treat them as two launches, which is how our Amazon.sa launch work is structured.

How do you check whether your product will sell before you launch?

Check demand, competition, approval status and margin before you ship any stock. Every check below uses free Amazon tools.

  1. Demand. Open the Best Sellers list for your exact sub-category on each store and note the rank of the products closest to yours.
  2. Search. Search both stores in English and in Arabic for the term a buyer would use, and count how many results carry reviews and Prime badges.
  3. Approval. In Seller Central, go to Add Products, search for a similar item and read the status: “Sell this product”, “Apply to sell” or “Not Available”, as Amazon’s help page describes.
  4. Brand data. If your brand is enrolled in Brand Registry, Brand Analytics shows search terms and click share. Our Brand Registry guide for the GCC explains how to get access.
  5. Margin. Price the product after Amazon’s fees. Our breakdown of Amazon.ae seller fees shows what is deducted, and our FBA fee comparison for Amazon.ae and Amazon.sa covers fulfilment and storage.

If you would rather have this done for you, our Amazon account management team runs the same checks as part of a free audit.
